| Cut balsa with razor blade at the age of 3. Built my first successful built up rubber powered model, Goldberg Spirit of St. Louis, age 4 years. Designed built and flew free flight and control line for 8 years. Began R/C at the age of 7. I have completed and won in open sailplanes, 1/4 midget pylon, sport pylon, open pylon, fun flies and pattern flying my own designs. I have had two designs published, a flying wind sailplane, "Solaris" and a pattern airplane "Spectra".
My first pattern contest was the 1972 nationals in C Novico. First Masters tournament was in 1979. I won the pattern division at the Toledo Weak Signals Trade Show in 1989. Represented the USA at three F3A World Championships for Precision Aerobatics in the FAI class, placing in top ten every time, placing third in 1990. US National F3A Champion in 1992 in Precision Aerobatics. US Masters Champion in 1993 for F3A Precision Aerobatics. Top five placing at the '90, '92, '94, '97 Tournament of Champions. Designed, engineered and built each of the airplanes I flew in competitions. 2nd place Madera Unlimited Gold Race '95 (giant scale pylon racing): clocked at 204 mph upwind.3rd place Madera AT-5 Gold Race '95. My "Mistress" design was kitted by Phillips Aircraft. My Extra 260 design for the '92 TOC is being kittede by Precision Built Models. My current aerobatic design, the USA Star, is being kitted by Capstone Models. My 44% scale TOC design, the G-202 is kitted by Fiber Classics in Germany and is a completely molded composite plane. My F3A G-202 design is kitted by Ultimatesport RC. I am also the designer of Desert Aircraft's DA160 and DA100 engines.
